Workshop Details

If you've always wanted to have a go at patchwork quilting but don't know where to begin our 9 square quilt workshop is the perfect place to start. We'll make a beautiful light weight quilt that's approximately 90cm square and is perfect to use as a play mat or lap blanket. During this workshop you will learn, * How to choose suitable fabrics * How to Measure and cut your fabric using a cutting mat and rotary cutter * How to put your fabric pieces together * How to layer up your quilt * How to quilt through the layers * How to bind the edges * How to attach and use a Walking Foot (if your sewing machine has one) As well as creating a beautiful quilt you'll also gain sewing confidence and skills. This project is suitable for all levels but you'll need to be able to use a sewing machine and bring your own sewing machine to the workshop. Date: Saturday 21st September 2024 Time: 10am – 4pm Cost: £25 workshop fee You can bring your own fabric or purchase some or all of the materials required. You will need to bring your own sewing machine and materials, or the materials can be provided at an extra cost. Materials required: 1m each of 2 colours of 100% cotton fabric for the quilt front 1m of 100% cotton fabric for quilt back 1m of quilt batting Sewing thread Additional equipment you should bring: Sewing machine Scissors Pins Walking foot for your sewing machine, if it has one If you wish to purchase materials the prices are as follows, 1m each of 2 colours of 100% cotton fabric for the quilt front - £27 (there are various fabrics to choose from) 1m of 100% cotton fabric for quilt back - £13.50 (there are various fabrics to choose from) 1m of quilt batting - £3.50 Complete kit - £45 Tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided but please bring your own packed lunch.
